About

About Tarun Shiksha Sadan, Sevli, Sonipat

Tarun Shiksha Sadan is a private co-educational school at Sevli village in Rai block, Sonipat district, teaching Class 1 to Class 8 in English. The register records it as established in 1982, which would make it one of the oldest private schools in the district, though its recognition order is dated 1990.

Seventy-nine children study here with nine teachers — a ratio of under nine to one, the richest staffing of any school we hold in these villages, and a figure unchanged for four years. Fifteen classrooms and four other rooms sit on its own site, with a library of about 600 books, a computer lab, ramps and accessible facilities. There is no playground; both government sources agree on that. Enrolment has fallen sharply over two years, which parents should read carefully.

Questions

Frequently Asked

1

Is enrolment falling?

expand_more

Yes, sharply — from 131 children two years ago to 98, then 79. More striking, the government return records a Class 1 intake of a single child this year, against eighteen and nineteen in the two years before. The school's own filing declares twelve in Class 1, so the two disagree. Either the intake has genuinely collapsed or the return's Class 1 cell is wrong. The upper classes are all still populated, so this is not the pattern of a school winding down. Ask about current numbers.

2

Which board is the school affiliated to?

expand_more

None, and none is expected. Board affiliation with the Haryana state board begins at Class 10, so a school teaching to Class 8 does not hold one. Families will need to move the child to another school for Class 9.

3

What are the fees?

expand_more

Only a one-time admission charge is on public record — six hundred rupees at the primary stage and seven hundred at the middle stage. The school's annual statutory filing declares no monthly tuition at any grade, which cannot be the whole picture: those charges alone would give each of its nine staff a few thousand rupees for the entire year. This is an incomplete filing, not free schooling. Ask the office.

4

Is there a playground?

expand_more

No. Both the government register and the school's own filing agree there is none — the only school in these villages where that is so.

5

Where exactly is the school?

expand_more

Sevli village, in Rai block. We have not published map coordinates: the position on record sits over six kilometres away in a different village, so we would rather show nothing than send you to the wrong place. Its own filing gives its address as Sevli and its postal address as Rai, while an older register entry names Barh Malik — the school may sit near the boundary between the two villages.

6

How many children per teacher?

expand_more

Under nine to one — nine teachers for 79 children, the richest staffing in this group. The figure has been identical for four years, so it may be out of date.

7

Is it accessible for a child with a disability?

expand_more

Ramps and accessible facilities are recorded.

8

Does it have a nursery section?

expand_more

No. It is the only school in this group with none — the government return and the school's own filing both record zero pre-primary children.
