1. Introduction
Welcome to Acadise ("we," "our," or "us"). We are an EdTech platform operated by Acadise.com, dedicated to simplifying the school discovery process for parents and students across India. We understand that choosing the right educational institution is one of the most critical decisions for a parent, and we are committed to providing transparency, trust, and security in how we handle your personal data.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") is an electronic record in the form of an electronic contract formed under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder. This Policy does not require any physical, electronic, or digital signature. By accessing or using our website, acadise.com (the "Platform"), or by providing your information, you consent to the collection, storage, processing, and transfer of your personal and non-personal information as described in this Policy.
We collect information from various sources, including direct submissions from users, data shared by school representatives, and publicly available records gathered by our internal team. Our goal is to create a comprehensive database that helps parents filter and find ideal schools. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, please do not use our Platform.
2. Information We Collect
To provide you with a personalized and effective experience, we collect several types of information. This data helps us match students with schools that fit their specific criteria. The categories of data we collect include:
A. Personal Information
When you register on our Platform, whether as a parent, student, or school representative, we may ask for personally identifiable information, including:
- Account Details: Full name, profile image, email address, mobile number, and password for account creation. We verify your mobile number via OTP to ensure account security.
- Student Profile: Name, age, gender, date of birth, current grade/class, and current school.
- Parent Details: Name, relationship to student, occupation, and contact preferences.
- School Preferences: Preferred curriculum (CBSE, ICSE, IB, State Board, etc.), location/locality (sometimes accurate GPS information for school filtering), budget/fees range, desired facilities (sports, transport, boarding), and admission year.
B. School Information
For school representatives claiming or creating a listing, we collect official details such as the school's official name, address, affiliation number, fee structure, admission dates, faculty details, and photos/videos of the campus. Most of this data is initially aggregated by our team from public sources and is subject to verification by the school.
C. Technical & Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Platform:
- Device Data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device model, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Logs: Pages viewed, time spent on pages, search queries, clickstream data, and other diagnostic data.
- Location Data: We may collect approximate location data derived from your IP address to suggest schools in your vicinity.
3. How We Use Data
We use the collected information for specific purposes to enhance your school discovery journey:
- Service Delivery: To create and manage your account, verify your identity, and provide access to our extensive school database.
- Personalized Recommendations: To analyze your preferences and suggest schools that match your budget, curriculum, and location requirements.
- Admission Facilitation: To forward your details (Name, Grade, Contact Info) to schools ONLY when you explicitly express interest by clicking "Apply Now," "Shortlist," or "Request Visit."
- Lead Generation: To create leads for schools based on your interactions (likes, shortlists, comparisons). These leads help schools identify and reach out to parents actively searching in their area. See Section 4 for details.
- Communication: To send you transactional updates (OTP, password reset), newsletters, admission alerts, and responses to your queries.
- Platform Improvement: To analyze user behavior using tools like Google Analytics, identify popular search trends, and optimize our website's performance and UI.
- Security: To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse of our Platform.
4. Lead Generation & School Matching
To match you with the right school — and help you discover other potentially better-fitting options you may not have found on your own — we share your details with three parties: (i) our in-house admission counsellors, (ii) the specific school(s) you interact with, and (iii) nearby schools in the same catchment area. Each of them exists to widen the set of good schools in front of you, not to pass your information further.
A. Our In-House Counsellors
When you submit an enquiry form, book an expert consultation, or ask for admission help anywhere on Acadise, your details — name, phone number, email address (if provided), child's grade, and location — go to our internal admission-counselling team. Our counsellors may call, text, email, or WhatsApp you to shortlist schools, explain admission timelines, and answer questions. Counsellors retain ongoing access to your email and phone for as long as your account is active. This is a first-party relationship between you and Acadise, not a disclosure to any outside organisation.
B. The School You Interact With (Direct Lead)
When you explicitly show interest in a school — by clicking Apply Now, Request a Callback, Like (Match), Shortlist, or Compare — a direct lead is created for that school. It sees a summary on its dashboard immediately: your name, child's name and grade, and city. It does not see your email or phone at this stage. The school may choose to "open" your lead, which consumes one of its monthly lead credits — only then does your email address and phone number become visible to that school, so it can contact you about admissions by call, SMS, email, or WhatsApp.
C. Nearby Schools in the Catchment Area (Indirect Lead)
To help you find options that might be a better fit than the one you originally clicked, schools within a radius set by each school (up to 25 km) also receive the same summary lead — your name, child's grade, and city, without email or phone. These nearby schools can open your lead on the same one-credit basis as the direct school, and once they open it, they too gain access to your email and phone number and may contact you about admissions. A single action on Acadise may therefore result in several nearby schools reaching out to you by call, SMS, email, or WhatsApp. These schools often have similar programmes, comparable fees, or distinctive strengths you would not have searched for by name — this is how parents on Acadise routinely discover their eventual top choice.
AT A GLANCE — WHO SEES YOUR EMAIL & PHONE
- Acadise counsellors: always, while your account is active.
- The direct school: only after it opens your lead (costs the school one monthly credit).
- Nearby schools (indirect leads): only after each one opens your lead, on the same one-credit basis — so multiple nearby schools may end up with your contact details.
Every school and counsellor who accesses your contact details is contractually bound to use them only for admission-related outreach — never for resale, bulk marketing, or sharing with third parties.
D. Your Control
By using Acadise's enquiry forms, consultation booking, Match, Shortlist, or Compare features, you consent to the sharing described above. You may withdraw consent at any time by using the Delete Profile option in your Profile › Danger Zone — this permanently removes your account and stops any new leads from being generated from your profile. Schools and counsellors that already accessed your details may retain them in admission records as required by law.
6. Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of young children is legally and ethically paramount to us.
NOTICE FOR PARENTS
If you are under 18, please ask your parent or guardian to help you use Acadise. We do not collect information directly from children without their parents' involvement.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18 without parental involvement. The data regarding children (name, age, grade) is intended to be submitted by parents. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information from our servers immediately. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
8. Data Security
The security of your data is important to us. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
We use standard encryption protocols (SSL/TLS) for data transmission. Passwords are hashed and salted before storage. Access to personal data is restricted to employees, agents, and contractors who need to know that information in order to process it for us.
However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Under applicable Indian laws and regulations, you have specific rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Correction: You can update or correct inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings or by contacting us.
- Right to Erasure: You can request the deletion of your account and personal data from our systems. Upon such request, we will remove your active profile, but may retain certain data for legal compliance or fraud prevention.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent for data processing at any time, though this may limit your ability to use certain features of the Platform.
To exercise any of these rights, please send an email to our team at hey@acadise.com. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. Disclaimers & Third-Party Links
Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
Harmful Links: As some school websites and links are submitted by users or scraped from public directories, there is a possibility that a domain name may be misspelled, expired, or redirected to harmful content.
