About
About Nav Chetna Model School, Piau Maniyari, Sonipat
Nav Chetna Model School is a private co-educational school at Piau Maniyari in Rai block, Sonipat district, teaching Class 1 to Class 8 in English. It was established in 2002 by the Shiv Educational Society and holds a Haryana education department recognition order from July 2006, corroborated by both government sources.
It is the best-equipped school in this village: fifteen classrooms in its own building, a library of about 275 books, a computer lab, a multipurpose hall, a dance room, marked badminton and kho-kho courts, and ramps with handrails. Eleven to twelve staff are recorded. We have not published a pupil count, because the government return this year covers only Classes 4 to 8 — the reason is set out below.

Questions
Frequently Asked
1
How many children attend the school?
expand_more
We have not published a figure. The government return for this year records children in Classes 4 to 8 only, with Classes 1, 2 and 3 all left at zero — and the same pattern has advanced one class per year for three years, each year's figures matching the previous year's cohorts moved up with the bottom row blank. That is the signature of unfilled fields, not empty classes. The school's own filing declares about 154 children across Classes 1 to 3, and its Classes 4 to 8 figures agree with the government return to within five children. So the roll is substantially larger than the 161 the return adds up to — probably close to 380 including the nursery years. Ask the school for its current number.
2
Does it teach Classes 1, 2 and 3?
expand_more
Yes. The school's own annual filing declares all three running with roughly fifty children each. The government return's zeros are a reporting gap.
3
Which board is the school affiliated to?
expand_more
None, and none is expected. Board affiliation with the Haryana state board begins at Class 10, so a school teaching to Class 8 does not hold one. Families will need to move the child to another school for Class 9.
4
What are the fees?
expand_more
A monthly fee rising from seven hundred rupees in Class 1 to just over a thousand in Class 8, with a one-time prospectus charge and an admission fee for new pupils. Increases this year all sat within the school's own permitted ceiling.
5
What facilities does it have?
expand_more
The fullest set in this village — fifteen classrooms in its own building, a library, a computer lab, a multipurpose hall, a dance room, and marked badminton and kho-kho courts. Ramps and handrails are recorded.
6
Does it have a medical room?
expand_more
We have not listed one. Its own filing says yes, the government register says no, and we would rather understate a health facility than overstate it.
7
What is the correct pincode?
expand_more
131028. The national register carries 131029 for this school, but there is no post office at Piau Maniyari, all four schools in the village give Kundli as their post office, and Kundli sits in 131028. The school's own filing gives 131028.
8
How much furniture is there?
expand_more
Worth asking about. The register records seating for about fifty against a roll several times that. It may simply be a stale figure, but check on a visit.
